Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning, a group of around 20+ people from many different countries gather together in the Here For Good Community Centre. They come to learn and practise their English, and to have an opportunity to chat with each other. They also have a chance to meet some English people – not always easy to do for those from abroad living among us, who can often be very isolated.

They work on grammar and vocabulary exercises, and English conversation. But more importantly, they meet people and often form friendships which spill out into the rest of their lives. They have a cup of coffee and a chat – the coffee break is probably the most important part of the class!

We have students from Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. And, most importantly, we have a team of enthusiastic volunteers who come and interact with them. Our students have various levels of English from total beginners to those working on the finer nuances of grammar and vocabulary. This is why our team of volunteers who can work with individuals at their own level is so vital.

If you are free on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday morning, why not drop in and see what goes on? More helpers are always welcome, and no qualifications are required, except the ability to speak English! It’s interesting, exciting and above all: fun!
