Our Overseas Family

Who?
What?
Where?

We are a wonderfully diverse family here in Forest Hill Community Church, London, with links extending across the world through our overseas workers.
These are people who have once been part of us here and who have moved to a different country to share the good news of Jesus. As a church, we are involved with them by praying for them, supporting them financially, staying informed about what they are doing, visiting them and generally keeping in touch.
Al & Lily Crow
Retired from their respective professions of teacher and solicitor, Lily and Al Crow felt a strong leading to work with the poor and oppressed in one of India's big cities.
They help run a business which offers work to former sex workers by making and selling jute bags.
Lily’s main involvement is in the nursery for the women’s children.
Al and Lily have four children, three daughters living in the UK and Tim who is in Uganda Until July 2009
Micah & Jummai
Micah & Jummai are well known to many of us here at FHCC from their time in London, assisting Nigel with pastoral work.
They live in Nigeria where Micah heads up a discipleship and leadership ministry called Pathfinders.
Jummai is the head of the Elim Foundation School.
Established in September 2006, it now has 420 pupils.
Tim Crow
Tim spent a few months in his gap year reaching out to street children in Uganda.
A major part of his outreach is through organising football tournaments in January each year.
Tim regularly sends us footage of these events and we are inspired by the energy and vibrant response of the boys involved!
He is the youth pastor for River of Life Church and appreciates our prayer for his ministry to young people both in and outside the church.
Joshua Klein joined him for a month in January ‘09.
Tim will return to the UK in July this year, and marry Sarah Giles in December.
They plan to return to Uganda as a couple in 2011.
Jonathan & Helene Tame
For many years, Jonathan and Helene have worked with Youth With A Mission (YWAM), initially in Romania, and now in Switzerland.
In Romania they set up and helped run several projects including a pregnancy counselling centre and worldview café.
After 2 years in Switzerland, they plan to leave YWAM in July this year and move back to the UK
The Woodings
The Woodings helped to run the Kiwoko Mission Hospital in Uganda for 7 years.
After 5 years back in the UK, they go out to Uganda again in August 2009.
They will be based in Kampala and be involved in hospital work, medical training, AIDS related work, and preaching and teaching.
Nick is preaching at our church on April 26th.
The Wallingtons
Paul leads a small church in Timisoara, Romania, reaching out to a poorer part of town.
They work particularly with children and youth.
We are developing a link with them, and hope to visit for the first time in May 2009.
We also regularly support:
• Primul Pas Crisis Pregnancy Centre Iasi, Romania
• Evangelical Presbyterian School in Tsibu/Ghana connected with Bruce and Mary Maxwell.
We encourage people to experience short-term mission and send out teams to various destinations, especially youth teams. People also go overseas with other agencies such as Tearfund.
Planned Teams and Pastoral Visits Overseas for 2009:
• SE Asia, January
• Uganda, January
• Turkey, January
• India, February
• Romania, May
• Nigeria, July
• Germany, October

We aim to pray regularly for our overseas family in various groups. Please contact the office for details, or check the weekly Newsbeat.
